I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Food Standards Act 1974 ( No. 11 of 1974 ) (as adapted by the Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 306 of 2002 )), after consulting with the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the Minister for Health and Children and such organisations as appear to me to be interested to a substantial extent in the subject matter of the Regulations, having complied with section 3 of the aforementioned Act, hereby make the following regulations- 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Food Standards (Potatoes) (Amendment) Regulations 2003. 2. The Food Standards (Potatoes) Regulations 1977 ( S.I. No. 367 of 1977 ) are amended, in the definition of “potatoes” in Regulation 2, by deleting the words “other than new potatoes, that is to say, potatoes that are harvested before reaching full maturity and whose skin can be easily removed by friction”. |
