Prohibition of sale or sending out of Northern Ireland of horned cattle. 20.(1) Any person who sells or offers or exposes for sale or sends out of Northern Ireland or who attempts to, or permits or causes any other person to, sell or offer or expose for sale or send out of Northern Ireland any horned cattle (other than cattle having rudimentary or stub horns) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction (a)to a fine not exceeding fifty pounds; or (b)if the offence is committed with respect to more than five animals, to a fine not exceeding ten pounds for each such animal. (2) This section shall not apply to cattle born before the passing of this Act. (3) The Ministry of Agriculture may by order made subject to negative resolution exempt from the provisions of this section cattle of such classes or descriptions as may be specified in the order. (4) In this section "cattle" means bulls, cows, bullocks, heifers, calves, steers or oxen. (5) Commencement. S.21 rep. by SLR 1976. S.22 rep. by SLR 1973
