Reserve constables. 9.(1) The Inspector General may, in accordance with regulations made under section 26, appoint reserve constables and such reserve constables shall be known as the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve. (2) Every reserve constable shall on appointment be attested as a constable by taking and subscribing the like oath as is required to be taken and subscribed by a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary and shall when on duty as a reserve constable have the like powers, privileges and duties as by the law for the time being in force may be exercised by or are conferred or imposed upon a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
