The Education (Mandatory Awards) (Amendment) Regulations 2001

  Made 18th July 2001 
  Laid before Parliament 19th July 2001 
  Coming into force 1st September 2001 

The Secretary of State for Education and Skills, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1 and 4(2) of, and paragraphs 3 and 4 of Schedule 1 to, the Education Act 1962[1], and by sections 3(1) and (3) of the Education Act 1973[2] hereby makes the following Regulations:

     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Mandatory Awards) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 1st September 2001.

    
2. The Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 2001[3] shall be amended as follows.

     3. In paragraph 10(1) of Schedule 2, the existing sub-paragraph (e) becomes sub-paragraph (b) and the existing sub-paragraph (f) becomes sub-paragraph (c).

    
4. In paragraph 14(2) of Schedule 2 - 

     5. For paragraph 14(3) of Schedule 2, substitute the following paragraph:

     6. In paragraph 1(1)(o) of Schedule 3 delete the words "or family credit".

    
7. For paragraph 1(1)(s) of Schedule 3, substitute the following paragraph -

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations, which come into force on 1st September 2001, amend the Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 2001 ("the Mandatory Awards Regulations").

Paragraph 1(1)(s) of Schedule 3 to the Mandatory Awards Regulations has been amended so that any payments made to students out of hardship funds paid to institutions in Scotland or out of access funds paid to institutions in Northern Ireland will also be disregarded (regulation 7).

These Regulations also correct drafting errors.
